When the HOA goes low, you go lower. That's just how it has to be sometimes. When you live in an HOA, you don't always get a board that has your best interest in mind. In fact, if you base it off of HOA stories you find online, it sounds like most HOAs are just filled with Karens and Kyles greedy for power. They'll control what color you can paint your house just because they can, not because they actually care that you have the best living experience with you and your neighbors.
In this most recent instance of the HOA being stupid, a 70-year-old man was able to make a wholesome prank out of it. Apparently, his neighbor, a member of his local HOA, claimed he was watching him through his back window. The old man thought that was absurd and also a little narcissistic. Like, why do you think he would be wasting his time watching some boring HOA member? So, just to be "nice" and make it so the HOA member didn't feel like he was lying, the neighbor hilariously put up a cardboard cutout of himself in the window to have someone watching him all the time now. One point for the homeowner, 0 for the HOA member.
